The story behind Romageco (Kenya) Ltd and Robs Magic suspension systems started in 1973, when the company's owner, Rob Collinge was competing in the East African Rally Championship, driving a Mitsubishi Gallant and later a Datsun 160J.

By especially modifying both cars' shock absorbers, he was able to achieve greater speeds than his competitors over rough surfaces, resulting in him winning the title in both cars. In 1978, Rob Collinge again won the Kenya National Rally Championship in an Alfa Romeo equipped with double front shock absorbers and an ingenious cooling system for the rear shock absorbers which he engineered to cope with high speed driving on rough, rutted surfaces.

These successes earned Rob a reputation as a 'suspension guru' leading to the commencement of shock absorber development work for clients ranging from motor companies and rally teams to tour operators. Romageco Kenya Ltd was formed in 1988 and "Rob's Magic" the brand followed. In 2003 & 2005, he won the Classic Safari Rally culminating in his retirement.

Nature of Job

  1. Look for new customers to boost overall sales revenue.
  2. Follow-up with existing customers to get feedback on service given or any further requirements
  3. Monitor market trends, purchasing trend and new emerging vehicle models that might be of importance to our business.
  4. Relate client needs and requirements to appropriate solutions that we deal in.
  5. Attend to phone calls relating to sales enquiries and give appropriate feedback/advice.
  6. Offer brochures with business information and explain to client any queries arising.
  7. Create and send quotations as per customer enquiries as and when required.
  8. Ensure delivery of goods ordered by clients is done satisfactorily.
  9. Follow-up on quotations and ensure once invoiced money owed by the customer is settled according to the company policy.

  1. To oversee mechanical operations at our assembly office and perform regular quality checks and valuations on end products against actual requirement.
  2. To monitor the regular use and service of the industry tools and equipments used in fabrication, welding, powder coating oven and the computer-aided-manufacturing systems (e.g Plasma Cutter and tube bending).
